If it's REALLY bad, then yes you can remove the throttle body and clean it from the backside too, but you really shouldn't have to. Plus, then you have to buy a new gasket. I like to be as least invasive as possible. Also, move the throttle plate VERY SLOWLY as you open it. This video is sped up quite a bit. I tell people "You should not hear it make a sound when you move it" - if you hear the little motor inside you're moving too fast. .
