I came to this country illegally with my parents many years ago and I'm deeply grateful for the tireless efforts of these individuals, who remind me of my parents' own struggles years ago. They show up to work even when the temperatures are 115 degrees! To those who suggest I should focus on cooking, I'm compelled to speak out and stand in solidarity with my community.#unidossomosmas
I was born with pride in the beautiful city of Zacatecas, Mexico, a place rich in history and culture. In the early 1980s, my family made the brave decision to migrate to the United States in search of better opportunities. When I arrived, I found myself immersed in a new world, unable to speak a word of English. Yet, within less than a year, I grasped the language with surprising ease, quickly finding my voice in this unfamiliar land. The opportunities I have experienced here have been abundant and transformative, shaping my life in countless ways. Despite the blessings I have received, I always carry my roots in my heart, honoring the journey that brought me to where I am today. I share the love of my culture through my food.
