Very out of my normal posting, a pretty raw and emotional video but I’m sure you all knew how much I loved Jake and getting him back was upsetting and a relief. He had a huge fan base who I am sure is also glad he is back with me. Losing a dog is never easy, I miss him

I have had a lot of people ask, what happened to Jake? I realised I haven’t shared it on TT. Essentially Jake got old.. Jake lost his front leg and half of his back foot at 2.5 weeks old, at 1.5 years the vets were doubtful he would make it past 5 and yet he made it to 7.5. Over the course of his life, Jake faced many issues unfortunately. Severe arthritis at 5.5, bone spurs in his spine, nerve damage, incontinence and unfortunately a lot of pain, to the point of not being able to move his bowels. Jake was on medication twice a day leading up to be put down, he would get up, go to the toilet and go back to bed, he slept on an electric blanket and a $200 topper to help, he was happy but he was not his normal self. On his final days, we gave him what he needed to have one last run on sheep and to play with the dogs and we cuddled on the bed for the rest of it. I know I made the right choice but god it hurts. I gave him the life he deserved and gosh did he make me happy. I miss him, even know I knew this day would come it doesn’t make it any easier and even after a few weeks I still go to call out to him or give him my left overs. RIP Jake the Snake 💙
