do you have one?🧚🏻 after last week's video talking about my plant enemy (the radioactive croton🚫) I wanted to start a series sharing plants that I actually like, and I think you will too. CARE ROUTINE🌱 Light - One of the most important things for healthy growth is lighting. Monsteras like bright indirect light (I use a @soltech grow light for mine). Giving them proper light is also important if you want those gorgeous fenestrations. The plant will start getting them as it grows bigger to allow for more light to reach the lower leaves. Water - I wait until the soil is almost dry. You can check by either poking around in the soil with your finger, or you can use a moisture meter. When watering I make sure to completely drench the soil. All my monsteras are planted in pots with drainage holes, and well draining soil, so I water until I see it draining into the drip tray. Fertilizer - It’s so important to feed your plants, and monsteras are no exception. I water with diluted fertilizer every time I water them in the growing months and every other watering in the winter. Bonus Tips - Throw your monstera in the shower every once in a while to give it a good soak. Make sure to regularly clean the leaves. I use a spray I make myself with water, neem oil, isopropyl alcohol, and a couple drops of dish soap. As they grow they will need some kind of support as well. They’re a vining plant, so if you don’t give them a trellis or something to grow on they’ll start growing up your wall if you’re not careful. I know from experience. 🫠 There are so many varieties to choose from, so if you haven’t yet go get yourself a monstera.🧚🏻🍃 #PlantTok #monstera #plantcollection #easyplants #beginerplants #houseplants #plants #plantlover #plantlady #plantaesthetic #plantguide #bigplants #planttips

Do you have one?🌱 Whether you’re just getting started collecting plants, or you’re a seasoned plant hoarder, the philodendron Congo will make a great addition to any gardener's home. There’s also a green variety of this plant that is equally as stunning, and easy to care for. So keep an eye out when you’re plant shopping for that one as well.🍃 CARE ROUTINE🧚🏻 Light - I talked about this a bit in the video, but giving this plant proper lighting will make all the difference. I have mine a few feet from a south and east facing window. So it gets diffused light for most of the day. If you don’t have great lighting, you can always supplement with a grow lights! Water - I like to let my plant dry out a bit in between watering. You can use a moisture meter to check the soil, but I typically just use my finger and poke around in the soil to see if it needs a drink. Like I always say make sure when you’re watering that you water until it drains out of the bottom of the pot. I always highly recommend pots with drainage holes so you know the roots aren’t sitting in a soupy mess at the bottom which can lead to root rot.🤢 Fertilizer - This is SO important if you want bigger healthier plants. I feed my plants a watered down fertilizer every time I water in the growing months and every other time I water during the winter. Soil - I have this one in a chunky mix of soil, chunky perlite, orchid bark, and charcoal and it’s been thriving in that mix for the past two years. Bonus Tips - I used a coco pole in the beginning but quickly removed it as you don’t typically need to support these plants. Keep the leaves clean to help keep the plant healthy and free of pests. Let me know if you have one of these in the comments. Thanks for watching!!✨✨ #philodendron #philodendroncongo #plantcollection #easyplants #PlantTok #plantaesthetic #beginnerplants #houseplants #plants #plantlover #plantguide #bigplants #planttiktok #planttips
