In an attempt to raise money for the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster FIFA and UEFA organised a ‘Football for Hope’ game featuring all of the best players in the world at the time led by Ronaldinho, the FIFA World Player of the Year and Shevchenko, the European Footballer of the year. The match which featured player from every continent was played at the Camp Nou in front of a 35,000 and Ronaldinho’s team won 6-3 with goals from Samuel Eto’o, Henri Camara, Cha Du-ri and Ronaldinho. FIFA hoped to raise £7 million in support of the tsunami victims, around a third through the game itself.
