Try these cues to get max glute engagement and clean, controlled reps. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ @AYBL dc NEENY Train with me & get access to full workouts 🔗 ✅ Use a box for elevation: Prop your non-working leg on a box or bumper plate to give your working leg clearance and stability. This allows for a better line of pull, and your heel won’t catch on the floor. ✅ Anchor your upper body: Use the upright for support. On the working leg side, grab low and pull; opposite hand goes high and pushes. This counterforce keeps your torso locked in and stops unnecessary twisting. ✅ Hinge from the hips: Soft bend in the standing leg, hinge forward slightly to load the glutes. Keep your spine neutral and core braced - no arching or overextending, please. ✅ Kick back and out at 45°: Turn your working foot slightly out and lead with the heel. ✅ Keep your hips square: No twisting or opening up as you kick back. Think of your hips like headlights, they should stay pointing down and forward the whole time. ✅ Control the movement: No swinging. Move slowly on the way back and even slower on the way in. Your glutes should be doing all the work, not momentum. It’s not about how heavy you can go, it’s about how well you can isolate and control. Most people have never trained their tibialis anterior outside of simply walking/running. Unless you are drummer or drive a manual transmission 🤣. Strengthening it will help the stability of the ankle, protect the knee from injury, and frankly, it's a cool looking muscle when developed. It's the muscle that runs along the shin bone and works functionally to support your ankle and other muscles. From a bodybuilding standpoint, it's a super cool muscle when developed and can help add some size to your calves. I am using a tibialis press made by titan in the video, but you can use any sort of elevation and do what I call top taps or reverse calf raises where the front of your foot is lifted instead of the heel. This is an exercise that you should be doing 100s of reps of many times per week. I get it to the point of not being able to lift the front of my foot with each set.
